What is the chronological order of the rundowns?
The rundowns and expeditions within are chronological and occur in order of their rundown number and tier. The only exception is Rundown 8.0, where the first half of the tier occurs in tandem with the second half of the tier.
When do the rundowns occur/when is present day?
The exact dates of each rundown are not known. It is assumed that the expeditions in each rundown occur in a short span of time, with minimal hydrostasis between expeditions for treatment and recovery. The last message within Garganta to be dated was June, 2063, indicating that the rundowns occurred during 2057 and 2063.
Why do dead sleepers dissolve?
It is not known, but the fact they dissolve is considered canon. It is assumed to be a unique characteristic of the parasite and virus symbiosis. Once the parasites have sustained substantial injury and cannot survive, they are unable to keep the host alive.
Did the parasites reach the surface?
It is not clear but unlikely. The only documentation of sleeper-like creatures on the surface was encountered in the Daylight Mission in the area surrounding the crater.
Did anyone survive in Garganta?
It is assumed that only KSO's survive, due to the ability of hydrostasis to clear the infection, and the absence of survivors throughout the rundowns.
What were the creatures discovered by Project Insight?
It is implied that as mining continued deeper into Garganta, the Santonian teams began encountering creatures, which eventually posed a research opportunity and a significant security issue within Garganta and the world at large.
What was Project Insight?
Project Insight was launched in 2052 as a research arm of Santonian's mining operations within Garganta. It was founded, or co-founded, by Dr. Gallus Hammerstein.
When was the complex overrun?
It is assumed that Garganta was fully overrun around November 2056. This is collaborated by the Daylight Mission, which had reached and partially descended into Garganta by June, 2057.
What is a worldline/timeline?
A worldline/timeline refers to the sequence of events and outcomes in a particular reality or dimension.
Are the ALT:// rundowns a separate dimension?
Yes, this was confirmed in Rundown 8.0.
What are the membranes?
Membranes are described as 'Planes. Spheres. Phases. Dimensions. Universes,' but more colloquially understood to mean alternate dimensions or parallel universes.
What was KDS Deep?
KDS Deep is one of, if not the largest excavation within The Complex and houses a majority of the Complex's KSO's in stasis. KDS Deep is the destination for many expeditions.
What was EF01?
EF01 was a mission to an alternate reality and location utilizing the Matter Wave Projector. The outcome of which being different for each worldline and particularly important to Rundown 8.0.
